As I said a few posts back I have gotten into listening to podcasts while knitting, spinning or whatever I am doing around the house. Well one of my favorites is www.pointysticks.org I love the song she starts each podcast with....if you came to my place last Wednesday for UFO support group (UFO = unfinished object), I tortured you by making you listen to it....

But more to the point, the gal that does this podcast is doing a contest for her podcastiversary....and I would of course like to win....any of the prizes she has listed, but mostly the mp3 player.

The contest has to do with socks...socks and more socks...

I taught myself to knit socks out of the twisted sisters sock work book over a year ago....and I have knit 5 pairs of socks....but when I was still learning myself my friends encouraged me to teach them to knit socks....and I had only done 3 pairs myself...but I taught them how...not sure if they enjoy knitting socks as much as I do....but they at least know the basics now....

In the course of the sock class....we learned many things about knitting in general and especially socks....first swatches are important if you don't want a huge or tiny sock....second its a good idea to make sure everyone has a good knowledge of knit and purl stitches.....

But it was all fun....I think I may still have some pictures of the class on my photo album on here.

Some spinning I have done....I tried to do navaho ply on the wheel on the pink/burgundy yarn....
but I don't really like it....not sure if I did it right though...

Also went to a stampin up class on Saturday....

all the cards but one that I have to finish assembling still because it was still wet saturday

I cast on another scarf for the Christmas project....and am spinning and dying more fiber....thats about it....

I finished my first project for 2007.....its also my first completed Christmas present for Christmas 2007...
can't see the scale pattern very well....but I think it looks like scales..

This last week has seemed to go pretty quickly.....guess that is what happens when work is nicely busy (not crazy busy like it was)....and have just a normal level of other things going on

Today was my SCA meeting...it was pretty short....not much going on with the group..... We are having an event next weekend....it is just period games and a feast....should be fun....

My new years resolution of using my yarn and fiber stash and finishing started objects has started a new trend by some of my friends....Meghan is setting up a craft support group....it sounds like we will meet once a month one wednesday from 5 - 7 ish.....probably at some local coffee shops....or other places....depending on what we get into....but it will mostly be a place to gather and work on projects and chat.... :0)

My grandma's 90th birthday is this month....its either the 23 or 24th.....but they are having a party for her the last weekend of the month....but i am on call that weekend....and the party is in elk river, near minneapolis MN....way to far to go while on call.....

It snowed today....i think we have a couple of inches...light fluffy stuff....luckily it isn't windy or it would be whiteout conditions....
